Born in Linares (Jaén) in 1967. He obtained the degree of Doctor of Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Alcalá in 2000. He promoted to University Full Professor in 2010. He has participated in several Doctoral Programs, having supervised eight doctoral theses. Nicolás Ruiz has published more than 60 research papers in prestigious international journals, most of them in the Journal Citation Report (JCR), and more than 120 papers in relevant international conferences. He has also participated in 40 research projects funded in public calls, acting in 15 of them as principal researcher. He has also participated in 35 R&D contracts with private companies. He has four recognized teaching periods, three research periods and four autonomic periods. The total number of citations of his scientific production is 305 according to Web of Science and 482 according to Scopus. Finally, his index h is 11 according to Web of Science and 13 according to Scopus.
