Lidia Ortega es Ingeniera Informática por la Universidad de Granada y Doctora en Informática por la Universidad de Sevilla. Es profesora Titular de Universidad de la Universidad de Jaén desarrollando su actividad docente en la Escuela Politécnica Superior de Jaén desde 1996. El ámbito de investigación se diversifica en área como la Geometría Computacional (teselaciones, visibilidad), Informática Gráfica (Occlusion culling, Detección de colisiones, planificación de trayectorias, descomposiciones basadas en capas), SIG 3D y Sistemas Urbanos. Pertenece al grupo de Investigación de Informática Gráfica y Geomática (ICT-144 Plan Andaluz / http://gggj.ujaen.es). Ha participado en 14 proyectos de investigación financiados, siendo la investigadora principal en dos de ellos. Ha participado como autor o coautor en la publicación de 34 artículos científicos en congresos de ámbito nacional e internacional. Al mismo tiempo tiene un total de 24 publicaciones entre capítulos de libros y artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales.
