Francisco Martínez del Río es un profesor titular del departamento de informática de la Universidad de Jaén. Siendo licenciado y doctor en informática por las universidades de Granada y Jaén respectivamente. Ha investigado en programación paralela e informática gráfica. Su investigación actual está centrada en minería de datos, incluyendo los algoritmos evolutivos, las redes neuronales, metaheurísticas, ensembles, clasificación y predicción de series temporales.
