del Jesus Díaz, Mª José
María José del Jesus is an Associate Professor with the area of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Jaén. Her research interests are in the fields of Data Science. In particular, in the area of analytics or predictive data mining, in the design of algorithms for extracting knowledge in classification (binary, multiclass, multilabel or unbalanced), regression and time series prediction with evolutionary fuzzy systems, neural networks and ensembles. In the filed of descriptive data mining her interests are in the design of algorithms for the extraction of association and subgroup discovery rules.
She is the head of the research group “Intelligent Systems and Data Mining” ((TIC‐207). She has published more than 40 papers in international journals indexed in the JCR, presented more than a hundred communications, presentations and lectures in national and international conferences, and supervised seven Ph.D’s, two of them with international of European mention. Some of her works have won international awards (High cited paper by ISI Essential Science indicators, CIS Publication Spotlight by IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, and Lofti Zadeh Prize Best Paper Award). She has scientific collaborations with European universities in Germany (University of Dortmund) and England (University of Lecitester, De Montfort University and University of Bolton). She is also member of the IEEE society (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and regular reviewer in relevant journals in the field of Computational Intelligence. She was co-editor of several books and special issues in international journals. She has worked regularly as an expert on evaluation processes of the National Evaluation Agency (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva, ANEP) and the Andalusian Agency for research (Agencia de Andaluza de Investigación). She has participated in over 20 national and regional research projects, being the main researcher in 5 of them.
