Martínez Muñoz, Damián

Damián Martínez received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the University of Alcalá, in 1988 and 2002, respectively. He also studied a Master’s degree in Information Technology from CEFRIEL (Centro per la Ricerca e la Formazione in Ingegneria dell'informazione), college attached to the Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy).

His professional activity began in Telettra Spain (subsequently integrated into Alcatel Standard Electrica) in 1989, where he worked in the R&D Department on different Transmission and Signal Processing projects. In 1993 he joined the company Electronic Applications Quasar (AEQ) where he worked in the development of different products of digital audio. During this stage, he moved to the United States where he collaborated actively with the Organizing Committee of the World Cup USA-94.

Since 1995, he has worked at the Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Departament of the University of Jaén. Nowadays, he is an Associate Professor in Signal Processing and Communications Area. He is co-author of different papers published in the proceedings of prestigious International Conferences and in journals included into the Journal Citation Report (JCR). He has been involved in research projects of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education (MEC) and private companies.

His areas of research interest are Signal Processing and its Applications to Communications, Speech and Audio.
